【黑暗騎士】由上集【蝙蝠俠：開戰時刻】的導演克里斯多夫諾蘭（Christopher Nolan）與飾演蝙蝠俠（本名布魯斯韋恩）的男主角克利斯汀貝爾（Christian Bale）再度聯手打造全新的蝙蝠俠系列。

ON CHRISTIAN
Christian Bale was born in Pembrokeshire, Wales, of Celtic ancestry, on 30 January 1974, and grew up in Oxfordshire and Dorset in England, as well as in Portugal, and in California. He has no nickname, preferring to be called simply "Christian." He makes his home wherever he is filming and with family in the US and UK. Over 6 feet tall, Christian has brown hair and hazel eyes. He has a small scar under his right eye which he got from a sports accident in high school.

ON HIS FAMILY
He is the youngest of four children and the only son. One sister is in the computer business; another is a musician; and another is an award winning theatre director. His father was a commercial pilot. His mother was a dancer and a clown in a circus. Both his grandfathers were part-time actors; one was a stage actor, the other doubled for John Wayne in two movies set in Africa. His great uncle, Rex Bale, was a lifelong professional actor with over twenty movies to his credit. Rex's cousin was the renowned Victorian stage actress and singer, Lilly Langtry. Christian is a newlywed - he and wife, Sibi, married in January.

WHAT HE LIKES
Christian loves animals. He has two dogs (Mojo and Ramone) and three cats (Miriam, Amy and Lilly), all strays that he found. He does not eat red meat. He explored vegetarianism at the age of six after his sister, Louise, read the book Charlotte's Web, to him. Now Christian will not eat anything sentient. He likes to surf, snowboard, and swim and boot around on his dirt bike or in his classic British roadster, a Triumph TR6.

ON THE JOB
When people wonder about the natural born acting talents of Christian, I point them to Empire of the Sun and ask them to imagine any other actor at age 12 being able to deliver a performance like he did. Nuff said! He also has a sharp ear for accents. Christian has used a different accent in every film. His natural speaking voice can be heard in Pocahontas. Are we seeing a budding writer? In Metroland, Christian and cast members massaged the soon-to-be classic ending dialogue of the film! In spite of his low profile, producers, directors and casting agents around the world recognize that Christian is one of the best actors under 30 today!

Is Christian married?
Yes he is! Christian married his girlfriend, Sibi, at the end of January (2000) in a private ceremony. Neither have been married before.

How did Christian get started in showbiz?
He started acting in television commercials at the age of 9, most notably for a Pac Man cereal commercial. He then followed his sister Louise into theatre workshops and did The Nerd - a stage comedy opposite Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean).

Will Christian ever do an online chat?

These films had a very small limited theatrical release in 1999. METROLAND is now available on Universal Home Video. ALL THE LITTLE ANIMALS is out on video Feb 29, 2000.

Is Christian friends with people from his movies?
Christian is very good friends with his METROLAND co-star, Emily Watson as well as his VELVET GOLDMINE galpal, Toni Collette. He's still friends with Winona Ryder and other cast members from Little Women. He enjoyed making the film Little Women thanks to the wonderful cast and crew. He is still friends many of his directors, including Steven Spielberg who directed him in Empire of the Sun. Christian spoke at the tribute to Spielberg by the American Film Institute in 1996. The life of an actor is an interesting one! As he travels to whatever location the movie takes him, it isn't easy for him to keep in touch with all his co-stars.

Will Newsies ever be re-released?
Don't count on it. Although Disney is probably amazed at the Internet fans of Newsies, there are no serious plans to re-release the film. Sadly, with its extreme aspect ratio (film buffs will know what I mean), it was made to be seen on the big screen! However, that doesn't mean that you shouldn't write to Disney and tell them what you think! They know how well Newsies is doing on video and are considering re-releasing on DVD!:-)

Does Christian smoke?
No, although his characters have smoked in many of his films, Christian wouldn't call himself a smoker. Magazine articles may mention him with a cigarette but he still says he's clean!

"When you're that skinny, you don't have any energy. I was exhausted walking down the street," Bale says. "I just basically sat in my caravan and smoked and didn't say much of anything except my lines." (The skinny on Batman, by Kevin Williamson, Calgary Sun, January 20, 2004)

Did Christian do his own singing in Newsies?
Absolutely! Christian has a great singing voice and he trained with a famous vocal coach to combine both Jack Kelly's New York accent along with his singing voice. Contrary to common belief, Christian did NOT do the choir singing in Empire of the Sun. That was done by James Rainbird.

How does the guy dance so well?
10 weeks of training for Newsies and more training for Swing Kids make Christian one of the most suave dancers on the silver screen today! Christian learned to do the Lindy Hop for SK as well as lots of athletic/gymnastic moves for Newsies.

What ever happened to Prince of Jutland?
Thanks to Balehead pressure on Miramax, PRINCE OF JUTLAND was cleaned up and re-edited into ROYAL DECEIT which is available on Miramax Home Video.

Is it true that Christian has nude scenes in his new films?
Yes, as an actor, Christian will do nudity if the scene and story calls for it - not for exploitative purposes!
